  • All placement tests are in a multiple choice format and do not allow the use of a calculator.
  • Students presently enrolled in an Algebra I class take a Geometry Readiness test for placement in one of our Geometry classes for freshman: Algebra 1A/Geometry A, or Geo/Alg2H. This test covers all topics taught in Algebra I. Students who do not demonstrate sufficient mastery of Algebra I content may be placed in Algebra 1 or Algebra 1A. (75 minutes)

  • Students presently enrolled in a Geometry course take a Readiness test for placement in Algebra 2, Algebra2/TrigA or Trig/Analytic GeoH. Students who do not demonstrate sufficient mastery of Geometry content will be placed in GeoA, Alg1A /GeoA or Geo/Alg2H depending on their grade level and test score. (90 minutes)

  • Students who have completed courses in both Algebra 1 and Geometry and are presently enrolled in an advanced Algebra 2 course, take a placement test covering Algebra2 (logarithms, rational functions, piecewise functions, etc.) and Trigonometry for placement in Pre-calculus, Introduction to Analysis and Calculus or Analysis Honors. Students who do not demonstrate sufficient mastery of Algebra 2 and Trigonometry content will be placed in Alg2, Alg2/TrigA or Trig/Analytic Geo H depending on their grade level and test score. (90 minutes)

  • Students who want (or need) to repeat the same course can choose to take the corresponding lower level readiness test. For example, a student presently enrolled in 8th grade Algebra who wants to solidify his or her foundation in the subject may take an Algebra Readiness test and be placed in an Algebra course next year.
