Newsbrief: Lunch welcomes new students
Published on September 24, 2007 in Volume 44, Issue 1

They may not be as large a group as the freshmen, but they are certainly from more diverse places. Students have transferred to Gunn from a wide variety of schools, including Palo Alto High School, Los Altos and even schools as far away as Switzerland.

On Aug. 30, new students convened during lunch in room L-4. About 30 students attended, including transfer students and Student Executive Council (SEC) members. Principal Noreen Likins, Assistant Principal Phil Winston and Student Activities Director Lisa Hall were also present. The administration did not formally introduce themselves, but instead schmoozed with the students. The school provided a pizza lunch.

The purpose of the meeting was for new students to get to know each other and some important faces on campus. "The meeting was a success," senior Student Body President Max Keeler said. "Everyone was meeting each other and mingling."
