Throughout the summer, the team held informal summer runs three times a week, and pre-season practices began on Aug. 18. The team typically does various runs each day. This year, the team is planning to attend the Adidas Country Classic in Portland, Oregon on Oct. 11. Regular season practices are usually from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. with optional Saturday practices. Cross Country is a no cut sport, and all freshmen who are interested should report to the track after school at 3:30 p.m.
FootballThe team had workouts throughout the summer, but tryouts officially started Aug.18. Practices are typically Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. The first home game for the Titans will be on Sept. 5 against Lincoln High School. Come out and support our team.
Girls' VolleyballIncoming freshman who are interested in playing should speak with Mr. Perez on the first day of school. There are three teams: frosh, junior varsity (JV) and varsity. Varsity begins play on the first weekend of September at the Milpitas Spikefest which is preceded by scrimmages for all teams versus Castilleja and Wilcox High School. The season runs through the first week of November.
Boys' and Girls' Water Pol0“Hell week,” as some of the water polo players like to call it, is the first week of practice, which is the week before school. During that week varsity had 2 practices: one in the morning and one in the afternoon. In the morning, they had practice for two hours during which they swam at the Terman pool, worked out at the fitness center and did various exercises. In the afternoon, they swam for two hours at Stanford University’s Avery Aquatics Center (The Belardi pool). Freshmen who would like to play are encouraged to attend practice at the Belardi pool from 3:45 to 5:45 p.m. through Aug. 30. Girls' TennisVarsity tryouts officially started a week before school, and tryouts for JV started yesterday. Nonetheless the girls who are interested in playing should report to the tennis courts after school at 3:30 p.m. Girls should bring tennis shoes, a tennis racket and water.
The tennis team will start their season off with the California Girls High School Classic tournament in Fresno on Sept. 12-13.
