[Forum] The topic of nuclear weaponry is often considered taboo. Taking the first steps in ending nuclear proliferation is a clear opportunity for the United States to demonstrate its diplomatic leadership, and to take a monumental step towards improving its global relations. In order for international security to be maintained, nuclear weapons must be safely eradicated. This, of course, will not be easy, and requires complete international commitment. —Eugenah Chou

[Centerfold] Tessaratomidae nymphs make their home in most woody areas of northeast Thailand and breed during the rainy season. There, they are a highly coveted delicacy and are prepared with typical seasonings like salt and pepper. Nymphs belong to the same family as stink bugs, and while lacking in the same kind of protective mechanism, are similar in build with relatively large bodies and small heads. They have flat thick bodies, and have hard shells for protection (and extra crunch!). Nymphs live off of the sap from young shoots of vegetables. Although they have wings, nymphs are not very gifted fliers, and instead use their wings to scare away smaller insects.—Eugenah Chou

[Forum] It sounds like the worst of an outdated sci-fi horror film: the day when modern medication is rendered useless. Shockingly enough, that day is completely possible. Since being dubbed the “wonder drugs” of the 20th century, antibiotics have come closer and closer to becoming obsolete.—Eugenah Chou

[Forum] According to the Center of Research and Analysis at the University of Connecticut, only 19 percent of surveyed students believe colleges should provide general education. This rock-bottom figure begs the question—why are students ignoring the liberal arts? Beyond preparation for a specific career, college education doubles as an opportunity for self-actualization, where students can learn for the sake of learning. —Eugenah Chou

[Entertainment] My first impression of Uwink, which is located on 401 Castro St, Mountain View, was how cozy the restaurant seemed. The constant chatter and spaciousness created a low-key atmosphere that helped in satisfying the one requirement for a good night out: comfort. Bar stools and tables are available to those seeking an informal excursion, and cushions to those looking for even more relaxation. Only one thing seemed out of place: the set of flat screen computers at every table. After ogling the restaurant’s niceties, I approached the hostess, who greeted me warmly. —Eugenah Chou

[Forum] Privatizing our nation’s education system may sound like a decent idea, but if implemented in the real world, a theory like this will fall to pieces. Although the government hopes to increase competition between schools by giving students the power of choice, the sad truth of the matter is that while good schools will thrive, bad ones will fail miserably. —Eugenah Chou
