Many Gunn students choose to participate on Gunn Sports Teams after school. To get information about Gunn athletic team tryouts, teams, sports schedules,etc., click Athletics Webpage.
Athletics and Physical Education are different.
Physical Education Waiver Application
Athletics refers to Gunn Sports which are run after school and questions should be referred to the Athletic Director by either calling (650)354-8214 or emailing Chris Horpel. If you have a question for a coach, please refer to the Athletics Webpage to find a coaches email address and email him/her with your question.
Physical Education refers to PE classes taught during the school day. The Instructional Supervisor of Physical Education is Don Briggs. Most questions should be directed to your students' teacher (see Teacher Webpage), but if you have departmental questions, then you can direct those questions to Don Briggs.
After a student has completed one semester of PE at Gunn, he or she may apply for a PE Waiver if they are selected as competing member on a Gunn athletic team (sorry, team managers that are not competing will NOT receive a PE Waiver).
To apply for PE Waiver once a student has been selected for a Gunn Team, the student must printout and complete the PE Waiver Application, including all signatures
