Physical Fitness Testing

 

Starting in the Fall of 2008, the state of California is requiring all entering freshman to pass 5 of the 6 Fitnessgram Fitness Tests.If a student has not met this requirement by the end of their freshman year, students will continuously be enrolled in PE until they have met this requirement. Official Fitness Testing will take place at the end of each semester, and all students are required to attend PE classes until these tests are officially passed. Passing refers to attaining the healthy fitness zone for a child's age. The tests are:
1. Flexibility (Sit and Reach/Shoulder Stretch)

2. Cardiovascular Endurance (Mile Run, PACER, Walking Test)

3. Upper Body Strength (Pushups, Pull-ups, Modified Pullups)

4. Muscular Endurance (Curl-ups)

5. Lower Back Strength/Flexibility (Trunk Lift)

6. Body Composition (BMI, Body Fat Analysis,Calipers)
