Cristina Florea

Cristina Florea began teaching at Gunn in 2006, after teaching at Saratoga High School.  She earned her Bachelor Degrees in Mathematics and Marketing, teaching credential, and Master Degree in Education Technology from Santa Clara University.  Cristina also completed coursework at Wharton and received a certificate to teach business to high school students, and now gives seminars at Wharton in applied learning.  She started BEAM, a program that teaches students how mathematics applies in real world contexts through business applications.  Partnered with the City of Palo Alto, Ernst&Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers, The Design Farm, and Silicon Valley Talent Partnership, BEAM gives students the opportunity to give back to the community and obtain hands-on experience in fields such as finance and quantitative marketing through volunteer work for local small businesses and non-profit organizations.  In BEAM, students are also encouraged to start their own business and receive mentorship from private sector firms and business school alumni.  In her free time, Cristina enjoys ballroom dancing, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends
